Supply Chain Forum An International Journal Vol. 3 N°2 2002 www.supplychain-forum.com This paper reports the results from a survey to Spanish automotive suppliers about the adoption of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). The paper focuses on the differences between first-tiers and second-tiers about barriers, benefits and motives for adopting EDI. The survey also analyzes the differences in the use of EDI between both groups of companies and the use of Internet to manage the supply chain.
